I’m a Believer

January 13, 2012

It’s Tebow Time on A Fan Divided. Tim Tebow has had a magical, one could even say fairytale season.  Eli Manning’s season has been pretty special too.  But this isn’t about fairytales, some kids’ movie or a mushy, albeit catchy, love song.  This is about football.   Sometimes it may feel like football is out to get you.  At times, football may even haunt your dreams, and often in football all you do get is pain.  But then you find someone who turns you into a believer, and when that happens, you couldn’t leave football, even if you tried.

Nicely said! It is all the trash talking and doubts about Tebow that make his successes even more poignant. Do you have a prediction for the Giants on Sunday?

Thanks Art! Not wanting to jinx this in any way, I’m going to stick with what my uncle said before SB 42, “I like our chances.” We have nothing to lose–9 point underdogs, playing the best team in football, at their stadium, where they are 8 and 0 this season–I like our chances. Go Giants!

Hollie, when Monique knows who Tebow is, you know that it is a huge story. I showed her his touchdown run against the Jets, and she loved how he successfully read the blitz. Well, she said something like that 😉 Here’s a question for you…do you think Tim Tebow is the biggest sports story of 2011?

You said it, people who don’t follow football know who Tim Tebow is. That’s why he is the sports story of the year. Who/what would be the other contenders–LeBron and the whole Heat fiasco but I think that started in 2010, if you want to get technical, and then the Penn State scandal. But Tebow is bigger. I googled LeBron to make sure I was spelling it right and the first news article was, “LeBron says he roots for guys like Tebow.” He’s everywhere. And he’s not going away. But it will be a little sad if the magical run ends tonight.
